The key advantage of these units is that they will automatically shrink and fall out in case of a fire. They have been rigorously tested and approved by UL for added assurance. These units are available with or without integral insulated curbs, as well as with 360° or 500° UL-listed fusible links that allow for specific control of venting, making them compatible with ESFR (early suppression fast response) sprinkler systems. Optional safety screens are also available for added protection.

These units are designed to automatically shrink and fall out in case of a fire, and are available with or without an ESFR-rated fusible link.

Shrink Out Gravity Operated Smoke Vents

Shrink-out smoke vents from Wasco provide an economical option to mechanical venting units. These gravity-operated acrylic double domes are designed to automatically shrink and fall out in case of a fire. They have been tested and approved by UL and can be purchased with or without integral insulated curbs. Additionally, they are available with 360° or 500° UL listed fusible links, which allows for specific control of venting, making them compatible with ESFR sprinkler systems. The vents are also rated for a Roof Class 90psf Uplift and can be equipped with optional safety screens. However, it is important to note that the area below the unit must remain clear of obstructions that could hinder the release of the domes.
